ParagonCare New Zealand partners with MARS Bioimaging to support access to pioneering spectral CT solutions

ParagonCare New Zealand announces a new partnership with MARS Bioimaging, the Christchurch based medical imaging company, to support the delivery of advanced computed tomography (CT) imaging solutions to healthcare providers across New Zealand.

The collaboration brings together MARS Bioimaging’s advanced medical imaging technology with ParagonCare’s expertise in medical technology, healthcare solutions and customer support, creating an opportunity to expand access to ultra-high resolution colourised CT imaging in specialist, community and point-of-care settings. Unlike traditional hospital CT scanners, the MARS system is internally shielded and small enough to be installed in urgent care settings or consulting rooms.

MARS Bioimaging’s technology represents decades of research and development, combining expertise across physics, engineering and medicine. Built around Medipix3RX photon-counting detector technology originating at CERN, the system is designed to produce highly detailed, three-dimensional images. The Spectrasight Extremity PCCT scanner produces clear, colourised images of hands, wrists and forearms with separate channels to visualise bone and soft tissue.

For patients, MARS Bioimaging’s Spectrasight solutions aim to make premium imaging available at any point in the pathway. For healthcare professionals, clinically important details are made visible from the first visit. Overall, the system brings advanced CT imaging closer to where patients receive care.
